Maintenance and Repair
Iron Horse provides railcar repair and maintenance services with quality. Our Team performs inspections, repairs certifications, and testing for a variety of railcar types in a cost-effective, timely manner. Our shop is set up to turn equipment quickly and has the capacity to handle large and small projects.
It is vital for any company to keep their railcars in excellent condition to meet the current shippers' demands. Our rail team will work with you to make sure your equipment is safe and meets all necessary regulations.
IH offers a wide range of services on-site. By offering multiple services at the same facility, we enable our customers to save time and money on unnecessary car movements, allowing fleet utilization to reach an optimum level. Our goal with any car in our facility is to turn it as quick as possible and do so honestly and transparently.
Repair - Tank
As a certified M-1002 shop with the AAR, Iron Horse is capable of performing repairs, qualifications, and other services for tank car owners. Iron Horse's full service facility has been designed for tank car customers primarily. This starts with a cleaning facility which is capable of handling most commodities moved in a railcar and ends with the ability to perform repairs, qualifications, service equipment maintenance, and coatings application.
We have focused the design of our repair facilities to encourage quick turn times for our customer's railcars. We understand that the goal is to get railcars in and out of the shop as quickly as possible and place daily emphasis on driving down our turn times.
Repair - Freight & Hopper
Our facility is positioned in the heart of the petrochemical sector with plastics and other bulk resin manufacturing at our doorstep. As such, it has been a natural focus of ours to build hopper car and freight capabilities in parallel with our tank car shop. With this, we are able to offer our customers a truly reliable shop for all cars in their fleet.
Our capabilities in hopper and freight cars include all mechanical repairs, wreck damage, gate repairs, interior lining touchup, relining, and exterior paint touchup. We look forward to continuing to grow our hopper and freight business and in forming partnerships along the way.
Repair - Paint and Lining
Iron Horse offers a full array of paint and lining capabilities including interior and exterior blasting capabilities with interior capabilities up to white metal blast. Our hopper car capabilities include lining touch ups, full relines, and exterior touchups. Our tank car capabilities include blast, reline, lining touchups, and exterior touchups.
Repair - PD Hopper
Pressure Differential (PD) Hopper Cars have been catered to specifically at our Beaumon Facility. As such, our dedicated PD Hopper Team has found a niche where they can improve on the industry's standard for PD care. The PD Team's special emphasis has been on streamlinig the repair of PD cars and increasing post-shopping reliability.
Our PD shop is not just specialized in PD, but also has been kept to food grade standards to allow shippers an auditable shop where cleanliness and professionalism of service are paramount. We encourage food grade and kosher customers to reach out to discuss how we can help ensure that your standards for cleanliness are withheld during all phases of the railcar life cycle.
